Through our health and human services and community involvement, Maricopa Integrated Health System has been making a difference in people's lives for close to 125 years. We stand by our mission, which is, "To provide a full spectrum of high quality, wellness oriented health care in an organized, cost sensitive, and customer oriented academic environment. Those efforts continue 365 days a year, every year. And sometimes, they earn us a little recognition, like the awards listed in this section.

Maricopa Integrated Health System continues to earn recognition for the quality of its services. U.S. News and World Report included Maricopa Medical Center in its report on "America's Best Hospitals" (1999 and 1996) for "Excellence in Respiratory Disorders," and "Excellence in Medical Care, Education and Research," respectively. In a 1996 health insurance study of Arizona, the Flinn Foundation acknowledged MIHS as a historical provider of healthcare for the uninsured. Consumer Reports ranked MIHS's Medicare HMO fourth in value among the Valley's 15 Medicare HMO's (September 1998).
